say whaaaaaat?
many of you remember a little LJ entry entitled Long Story Short. it was not behind the friends filter, and dealt with Logogate 2006. No? Scroll down. so last night i get a call from rachael, who randomly found this little gem: the freeconomics of freemium logos. i hate to sound like a broken record, but... say whaaaaaaat!? i have no idea who is running Design Ninjas, or why they're reading the few and far between public entries on here. i especially like the phrase "Alexholic told a sad tale:", like i was a concentration camp survivor. either way, Design Ninja people, thanks. i'm flattered, though i don't know who you are. also, when i meet new people i'm going to say, "Hi, i'm alex... perhaps you know me from Design Ninjas? Yeah, that was me." also, i'm not sure if i open up some sort of internet worm hole by linking to a page that was linking to me in the first place. i'm going to rewatch the Back to the Future trilogy to check. |

long story short
i designed a logo for a buisness. said buisness owner said he would compensate me for the logo when the buisness got up and running. said buisness owner informed me the buisness would not be taking off, and thus, the logo was not needed. recently i found out that said company did get started, and my logo was ripped off without any permission or compensation. on a related note, i'm not going to be posting any more pictures of sketches, paintings, tattoos, drawings, etc. here on the lj, or any other internet source. the theft didn't take place online, but i'm fed up. |

here's what i've been working on for the last coupla weeks: Jacketyou can download the pattern for free, piece each page together piece by piece, and try and figure it out. more than 60 pieces with basically no intructions. |

owch
i always get sick after shows. maybe i should just pretend i'm doing shows in between shows. but i AM doing shows in between shows, so how unfair is that? i need to find a portable bathtub and go to the doctor, for two unrelated reasons. webmd says that i might have strep, and i might be a workaholic. but i haven't had a drop of workahol since new years! how does one become a hermit? is there a program? do you need a special licence? how do you get groceries? can you have a guest? |

and you smell like syrup!
so, my upstairs neighbor moved out a couple weeks ago. BUT, i didn't realize it until a couple days ago. i thought he was just out a lot. THEN, yesterday there was a new car in the driveway. with WISCONSIN licence plates. and CLEANING noises were comming from the from apartment. and TALKING noises. i haven't met them yet, but here's what i have found out about them: 1) it is a boy and a girl that live there. 2) they drive a wisconsin car. 3) one of them enjoys the movie TITANIC. 4) they stayed out late on a monday night, comming home at 1230am or so. 5) they enjoy having loud sex in the room right next to the one i sleep in. 6) they enjoy having post-coital drinks and listening to music and laughing. 7) in the morning, one of them practices their tap-dancing. 8) they just got COMCAST DIGITAL CABLE installed outside of my kitchen window. 9) i don't like them. neither does rachael. ALSO! i'm making a dress. |

pancake breakfast! tattoo lunch! mayor moon dinner! candace cameron is all grown up, but we'll all remember her as america's favorite sister. but rachael is america's favorite paper delivery girl. mayor moon and shiloh rules have been going really well. really busy, but really great. and grapes too! and soda pop! and whiskerino throwdown! patrick has foodstuffs and animals living in his beard. |

so i've been at camp for the last two weeks. week one: fat camp i totally wrote a note to this girl that i've liked for a couple summers, telling her how i feel. but the thing is, at the end of last summer she was totally mean to me and i was all like "psshhh, whatev." but then i wrote her this note telling her how i wanted to be with her and cherish her and if she didn't want to be happy then i would leave her life forever. THEN i gave it to her and she showed her friends! they all read it in a group in their cabin and laughed at me! also that wierd girl that i don't know keeps talking to me. she's like "what's up?" and i'm like "nothing... just chilling." how wierd is that!? she was all crying and stuff because her bunkmates told her she needed to take a shower because she stank. then i ran for fat camp president. it was me and matt and jennifer. and jennifer won! can you believe it? week two: camp ovation can you beleive it? drama camp again this summer! fab-u-lous! there was this totally new, totally hot, and totally STRAIGHT boy in out cabin this year! he came in with his little bags and clothes and stuff and was like "do you mind if i use this drawer?" and i was like "honey, you can get into anyone's drawers here, i don't think you'll get any resistance!" hottiez! soooooo much more awesome stuff happened, inclued a guest appearance by STEVEN "OMG" SONDHEIM!!!!! but wtf, vlad? stop sleeping with every bitch with legs here! am i right?! then i came back to school. all in all, it was the best summer ever. |

sometimes when i walk down the hallway and there's someone waiting for the elevator, i like to stand next to the stairwell entrance and wait. then when the elevator door opens and they step in i like to book it up the stairs as fast as i can. like, marathon style. then get to the top floor and lean against the wall near the elevator and pant and sweat. and i'm all like, "nice... right?" EDIT: this is not funny to do when it's a handicap person using the elevator. it just makes you look like a jerk. |
